My approach

  • I am an advocate of ‘everything in moderation’

  • I don’t believe in labelling foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, or in restrictive diets

  • Food should be about enjoyment, as well as nourishment

  • Cutting out foods (without genuine medical need) is unnecessary, unrealistic and unsustainable long term

  • I like to focus on adding foods in, to improve the quality of your diet, rather than removing them!

  • I won’t provide meal plans, but instead work with you as an individual, to identify small, realistic goals, for long term results

“I have suffered from IBS for most of my adult life. Having tried and failed to find the source of my issues over many years, I sought the help of Lucy. 

Initially we met and she took a detailed history of all my issues and she advised me to follow a low FODMAP diet in order to identify the triggers to my problems. The low FODMAP diet follows a process of elimination of food groups and then a slow reintroduction. Although this is a lengthy and strict process to follow, Lucy was on hand for suggestions and advice throughout. 

The results have been amazing, giving me a better quality of life. I hadn't realised how much pain and discomfort I had got used to and deemed normal! I now rarely suffer from IBS symptoms and if I do they are much less severe and I can usually identify the cause of the problem.
